MAC Launches New Dessert Line: Baking Beauties

Here are some desserts you can indulge in without it going straight to your hips!  MAC is launching a new, limited edition makeup collection called Baking Beauties on April 11, and by the looks of it, it's going to be a sweet delight... for your face.

As if taken straight from the assembly line of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, or off the macaron rack at Laduree (mmmmmm.... salivating already), the new collection will feature a yummy mix of pastels, with a hint of chocolate and metallic finishes.
The Pro Longwear Paint Pots will come in shades of frosted white, buttery creams and pale pinks, cake patterned face powders, and playful lip balms in sheer colors of pinks, mint and tangerines.
Let's not forget the fun eyeshadows and lipsticks, ranging from deep plumb Devil's Food to pink icing.

This makes me hungry just thinking about it!  Will you give them a try?

Look We Love: Cobalt Blue Accents!

Lately, I've been obsessed with cobalt blue!  I mean... ob-sessed!  Everytime I see an item in the color, I immediately gravitate towards it, be it a long maxi skirt, a Celine handbag... I've even considered a couch in the color (I know, I'll give that one some more thought)!

So when I saw this look, with a simple cobalt blue scarf, I was instantly taken by it's simple-yet-powerful statement.  Let's dissect this look shall we?  Take a simple gray, jersey knit, knee length dress, add a cozy soft, pale cream cotton cardigan, and throw on some flat ankle tennies.

It's a casual-meets-elegant look, amped up to the hilt when paired with this cobalt blue infinity scarf.  The deep, vibrant hue adds a ton of punch, without going overboard in prints or clashing colors like neons would.  The result: major fashion forward without the fuss. Something we love!

Throw on some red rimmed sunnies, a beach towel and lunch, and you're good to go!  What do you think?  How would you incorporate cobalt into your wardrobe?

Beyonce's $5,500 Custom Sneaker Wedges

Beyonce is no stranger to flashy, go-big-or-go-home statement fashion.  So why would sneaker wedges be any exception to the singer's upscale world?

Calling themselves the "Maybach" of the couture sneaker world, PMK Customs (Perfectly Made Kicks) was the go to source when Bey and hubby Jay-Z wanted their own kicks customized.  For J, founder Andre Scott crafted a red Nike swooshed "Brooklyn Zoo" pair of Jordans out of a hybrid of luxury reptile skins valued at $2,500.

Not to be outdone by J's kicks, Beyonce had a fresh spin put on her Isabel Marant wedges, creating what is named the "King Bey" show, which is a mix of ostrich, crocodile, and anaconda skins, stitched together with nothing less but gold thread.  The total cost, oh, about $5,500... no biggie.

The designer stated that they had no edits to make to the specialized pieces, as Beyonce's attention to detail was very thorough.

So what do you think?  Do you like the wedges?  Needless to say, PETA has had a field day protesting the use of the skins for shoes... What are your thoughts?  Let us know!

Princess Diana's Timeless Style Sells for $360,000

Even though I hadn't even been born yet when Princess Diana did an iconic twirl at the White House with John Travolta (yes, that's him in the photo!) I still know how to appreciate timeless style.  And this dress, and Diana herself, were the epitome of that.

In fact, ten of Princess Diana's most iconic looks were held to the same esteem, being auctioned off this week at the London Kerry Taylor house.  The gorgeous off-the-shoulder gown, made in a deep midnight blue velvet by designer Victor Edelstein (swoon) that she wore to the White House sold for $360,000!!! And who bought the dress??  Simply a man who was "looking to cheer his wife!"

And while that timeless dress will forever be etched in the minds and hearts of all fashion lovers, both young and young-at-heart, she has had so many looks that paved the way to true style, class and elegance, I just had to pay a little homage to Princess Diana and her beautiful life of fashion.

So enjoy some of our favorite looks that she wore so effortlessly!  Which is your favorite?

Bold Spring Trends Unleashed!

Happy first day of Spring everyone!!!!!

We are so excited, not only because the days are getting longer and warmer, but because Spring fashion is finally in full bloom, and there are so many bold new trends emerging, we couldn't wait to show you what's hot this season!

The days of pastel florals, cork wedges, and leggings under dresses are out (well, not entirely, but they are for this post) and bright leather, peplum, and citrus hues are in, in, IN!  And rather than us doing the blabbing about what fresh new styles to try on, we thought we'd take some cues from fav fashion stars like Anne Hathaway, Solange Knowles, Miranda Kerr and others about what to try out this season.

We'll take our first cue from Anne Hathaway, who sported some daytime sequins in this nude number straight from Nina Ricci's runway.  What do you think of glitz in the afternoon sun?

Next, Chloe Moretz awes us with a bright and uber attention grabbing eyelet sundress in citrus yellow, straight from Simone Rocha's runway collection.  Opting for black accessories takes this into a modern, more real life existence for the actress.

Let's not forget about cutouts, which will play a huge part in the Spring sex appeal department this season!  Gweneth Paltrow looks absolutely stunning in this sexy-yet-elegant Michael Kors design, tailored to just below the knee for a more cocktail friendly look.

And what about leather?  Leather can work for any season you can throw at it, especially in bright hues which take the bite out of the traditional dark look it has.  Just ask Blake Lively, wearing a lovely Isabel Marant leather mini in a bold, blood orange color.

So what do you think of the daring Spring fashion trends?  Any get you excited to try?  Tell us about it!

30 Years of Marc Jacobs Fashion in 1 Minute!

Yes, yes, I realize it's a little silly.... pretending to be able to cram three decades of Marc Jacobs fashion into a minute long video.... but it's that sort of playful ness that we adore about the handsome designer.

The campaign is for Diet Coke, and if you missed my last post on the first video from the campaign.... well.... you might want to scroll back through the blog and treat yourself (shirtless Marc Jacobs posing with a Diet Coke can?  We say Yes!)

Why Diet Coke?  Marc Jacobs is the creative director for the soda this year, and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the drink, they decided to pay homage to 30 years of fashion, lovingly cradling the can.  So get a glimpse of the 1980s, '90s, and '00s.

What do you think?

Marchesa's Fall 2013 Collection Stuns!

Well Fashion Week has swept the globe, and landed in our laps here in Los Angeles.  And while today marks the first official start of Style and Fashion Week, I've got a few more hours before hitting the runways this afternoon.  Not to mention, a performance to prepare for!

So let's take a moment to gush over the new collection of Marchesa, brought to life by the fabulous Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig.  They wonderful show, held at the New York Public Library (how awesome!) took our breath away, featuring romantic and very delicate feminine details.

We saw lovely and polished day looks at the start of the show, and were eased into the real stunners: the evening gowns, highlighting amazing drapery and layers, sheer overlays, and gorgeous colors like fuchsia, deep reds and more!

Which is your favorite look from the collection?
